4 Healing Spaces for Wellness

Although we love the hot summer weather and the joy the season brings, even the gorgeous weather and breathtaking destinations can’t help our mental state. Just as the fall and winter seasons can trigger emotions, so does summer. As a precaution, it is important to maintain a sense of stability and keep track of your mental health. Health issues may be at a higher risk when the weather is hotter. Countless people deal with life-changing moments no matter how beautiful the day is. Thankfully, we have some ways to help you! Some are on digital platforms, while others are in person. You can follow their pages for helpful tips even if you’re not close to a city listed. Here are 4 healing spaces for wellness.

  1. GirlTrek

Want to promote a healthy lifestyle while healing trauma? Then, GirlTrek is for you! In hopes of helping black women become empowered and mobilize the community (through health or political power), GirlTrek encourages black women to walk 30 minutes a day. Through their research, they’ve learned that participating women have lowered risk of depression, anxiety, stroke, heart disease, and diabetes. Girltrek has over one million members from various chapters across the country. 61% of their members have lost weight, while 90% of the members who were diagnosed with depression explain walking has improved their symptoms.
