7 Unique Places To Go for Spring Break in Florida

When people think about Florida to vacation, most people visit Orlando to see our most famous mouse in the world, Mickey Mouse, which is fantastic. However, Florida offers so much more: history, wildlife, and adventure to make spring break spectacular. Spring break in Florida is the only option; especially when the #1 place in the world is in our backyard!

Let’s go to our top 7 favorite places to visit!

1. Destin, Florida

We begin our spring break north in the beautiful city of Destin, Florida! Where the beaches are as white as snow, and the water is as blue as the sky: this is pure bliss! Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key are known for their warm, crystal-clear waters. It's a paradise for beachgoers with a breathtaking backdrop perfect for relaxing or embarking on your next outdoor adventure.

Take a walk back in history as you visit Pensacola. This city offers a multitude of historical sites to discover! Explore the exquisite brick battlements and labyrinth of arched tunnels of Fort Pickens – a pre-Civil War fort on Pensacola Beach. Spend the day touring Historic Pensacola Village to experience the rich heritage of America’s first European settlement. Comprised of 28 museums, historic homes, and properties, the village encompasses 8.5 acres within the footprints of the original Spanish and British forts in downtown Pensacola. No trip to Pensacola is complete without seeing our US Navy Blue Angels and stopping by Naval Air Station (NAS). The Blue Angels practice from March to November and typically fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They can be seen from various viewpoints. Don’t miss the Blue Angels Airshow on Pensacola Beach in July and their homecoming show in November.

2. St. Augustine

St Augustine is a must because the ancient city boasts attractions such as military forts, stately castles, a spiraling lighthouse, scenic nature trails, and tranquil beaches. Dive into fascinating museums, take scary ghost tours, and maybe discover the fountain of youth. This intriguing city is the oldest in the United States of America. It is fun for the whole family. Whatever you uncover, timeless stories of other eras will unfold as you explore this historical place of possibilities.

3. Daytona Beach

You cannot visit Florida without visiting the famous Daytona Beach! Explore, ride, or drive along this sparkling beach. If you are a die-hard car enthusiast, visiting the Daytona 500 museum is a MUST. Or explore the new Daytona Beach Aquarium or catch a sunset cruise on the Atlantic Ocean. Whatever you fancy, you and your loved ones will not be disappointed.

4. Sarasota

If you want to visit a picturesque place, visit Florida’s gulf town of Sarasota. This place is stunning with its gorgeous beaches to its pearly white sands! There are numerous places to explore here! The first place you should visit is the Ringling Brothers Museum. You will think you are about to enter a museum of clowns and acrobats. This fantastic place displays the legacy and lifestyle of the Ringling Brothers family, their impressive art collection, and their blooming gardens with a fun-filled, uniquely designed playground for all ages. There is a lot to do on this side of town, from seeing marine life, visiting the sunken botanical gardens, and patronizing all the unique museums Sarasota has to offer. You will be impressed by this amazing journey.

5. Cocoa Beach

This is perhaps one of my favorite places to visit because the world of science meets nature all in one. If you are a science buff and are excited about the future of space, you will be mesmerized at the Kennedy Space Center. Step back in time and reminisce about the military history of planes. One of our favorites is the biplane and helicopter tour.  Or, if you are an avid fisherman, there are plenty of fishing and shark fishing tours. You will fall in love with this beach town! While there, you can surf and, if you are lucky, see a space rocket launch. One of the hidden gems that most locals do not know about is the famous bioluminescence kayak tours. Take a tour and watch the glowing jellies light up the lagoon. It is one of the brightest compared to other locations worldwide with fluorescence.

6. Miami

Miami is worth visiting for its superb beaches, jaw-dropping skyline, excellent museums, and the gorgeous Everglades National Park. Architecture lovers will enjoy its Art Deco buildings, sun fans – its warm weather, shopaholics – the numerous malls, and party beasts – the city’s non-stop nightlife.

7. Key West

Key West, the southernmost point in the United States, is famous for watersports, lively nightlife, beaches, historic sites, and its pastel, conch-style architecture. Duval is one of the most energetic strips of shops, bars, and cafes anywhere! Stop by Sloppy Joe’s bar, a favorite Key West hangout of the late novelist, Ernest Hemingway. For the more sober-minded folks, tour the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.
