What To Expect When You Arrive
Once you arrive and check in, a team member will lead you to a locker where you can store your personal items. Discovery Cove Activities
There are four main areas where most guests lounge: The Grand Reef, Freshwater Oasis, Serenity Bay, and Dolphin Lagoon. The Grand Reef is a breathtaking coral reef to snorkel and swim alongside thousands of colorful fish and stingrays. Similarly, the Freshwater Oasis is a wading adventure to watch otters, marmosets, and other fun animals at play. If you’re looking for a warm 85-degree resort-style pool with a tropical beach atmosphere, Serenity Bay is the perfect spot to relax, swim or frolic.
My family's favorite location is the Dolphin Lagoon. This area is truly one of the best places to swim with dolphins, especially if you have kids. The beach setting allows kids to walk into the water and the dolphins will come to them. This is preferred by many parents. In previous experiences, I had to hold my daughter while standing on a slippery surface. Therefore we can eliminate fear and have a safe atmosphere. All participants will learn about the dolphin habitats, communication with trainers, and how humans can safely interact. The most exciting part is actually swimming with the dolphins! Adults and children can choose a shallow or deep water swim experience. Overall, the Dolphin Lagoon is an amazing experience for all levels.
After the Dolphin Lagoon, check out the Explorer’s Aviary and Wind-Away River which are also included in your admission. Most importantly, since there is so much to experience, an early start is recommended. The park opens promptly at 9:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm. Check-in begins between 7:15 am to 7:30 am; depending on the time of year.
