1. Season Festivals
Maple syrup season occurs between February and April each year. Sap is extracted from trees to create sugary goodness. In Montreal, you can find maple candy, beer, and entire maple meals. Our favorite sugar shacks include Sucrerie de la Montagne and Cap-Saint-Jacques Sugar Shack.
Another favorite is the Montreal International Jazz Festival is held for ten days in late June-early July. This event brings out the best artists so you can plan your visit. A fun fact: The festival holds the 2004 Guinness World Record as the world's largest jazz festival.
2. Old Montreal
Located near the Saint Lawrence River, its historical roots go back to the 17th century. You can find beautiful stores, museums and restaurants. Check out Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel, Bonsecours Market, and Old Port Montreal.
3. Jean-Talon Market
Take advantage of this wonderful open-air market filled with fresh goods such as meats, cheeses, fresh fish, and bakery goods. It's one of the oldest public markets in Montreal. This location is open seven days a week, wheelchair accessible, and debit/credit cards are accepted.
4. Notre-Dame Basilica
