Since Legoland Florida opened in 2011, it has been an absolute hit in our household! This park is one of my son’s favorite parks to attend. What child doesn’t like to be transformed into a Ninja from Ninjago or be a part of the Blackbeard bounty pirate crew. With the new arrival of the LEGO 2 movie, you can now experience being immersed in the LEGO 2 movie experience. This is totally AWESOME! You will feel like you’ve shrunk down to the size of a minifigure as you explore the many lands offered at Legoland Orlando.
As a first-time visitor it may be a lot to navigate, since there is so much to see in one day. I recommend staying for 2 days to truly explore the park and waterpark without having to be rushed. However, if you are crunched for time you can still explore the park in one day and have an amazing day. Let me show you the way to an incredibly good time, in which I give you the inside scoop to making your experience at LEGOLAND Orlando a successful visit.
History of LEGOLAND Florida
LEGOLAND Florida is on the property that once was called Cypress Garden; an old favorite for Floridians. Even though the park has been transformed to the amazing world of LEGOS. However, they have preserved the famous gardens in which you can explore when you need a little reprieve from the LEGO world. LEGOLAND Orlando is on 150 acres, overlooking Lake Eloise. This attraction is an interactive theme park dedicated to families with children between the ages of 2 through 12. Therefore, Legoland is divided into 10 themed zones, has 50 rides, a variety of shows, interactive play areas, retail shops, restaurants and a factory tour showing how Lego bricks are made. LEGOLAND is a fun-filled park for all ages but if you’re a family who desires mild thrill rides and a great opportunity to build and create throughout the day then don’t let this AWESOME day wait any longer!

LEGOLAND Florida has an on-site, super immersive hotel. The five-story, 152 room hotel has over 2,000 LEGO models and even hosts nightly LEGO building competitions. The pool filled with floating LEGO bricks is one of my kid’s favorite parts. My kids made a lot of new friends hanging out at the Castle Play Area. We stayed in the premium pirate room where there was plenty of room for the kids to explore and treasure hunt. Meanwhile, I was able to relax in my own section of the room, in a comfortable plush bed designed as a pirate ship. The hotel is a must if you want to truly experience all that the park has to offer. Also, don’t forget to sign up upon arrival for a mini LEGO building experience with a live demonstration with a Master LEGO builder.
